The Combi Timer is a combination duration timer and interval timer. It allows you to set the duration of your practice session and set an interval gong within the duration for mindfulness meditation, yoga practice, reiki sessions or other practices requiring regulated timing.

Setting the timer is a simple 2-step process (see image of controls below):

Step 1: Inner Circle of Numbers. Turn the dial to the desired Interval setting (setting it to 0 means you don't want any interval gongs within the duration) - Press the ON button.

Step 2: Outer Circle of Numbers. Turn the dial to the desired Duration setting (the duration needs to be longer than the interval or no interval gong will be heard) - Press the ON button.

After 15 seconds, three rings of the gong will signal the beginning of the duration. Single gongs will be heard at the set interval. The end of the duration is signaled by several light rings of the gong followed by three final rings of the gong. The timer will turn itself off automatically after the final gongs.

The volume can be switched between the Low (small musical note) and Normal (large musical note) settings. The low setting is suitable for your meditation space and the normal setting works well in a larger room or with a small group of people.

Please note that the time settings of the timer are fixed settings. That is, the possible intervals are exactly 0 (no interval), 2, 3, 5, 10, 15, 20, or 30 minutes. Placing the pointer between the numbers will not provide an interval somewhere inbetween - the timer will produce an interval of either the lower or higher number. This is also true of the duration settings - they are fixed durations of 20, 25, 30, 40, 45, 50, 60, or 90 minutes.

Please note that the Cherry Wood is Natural Cherry Wood without the reddish stain typically used on American Cherry Wood Furniture. The color varies from a strawberry blond to the reddish-orange hue seen in the image above. The Cherry Wood deepens in color over time as a natural process.

*The timer is normally shipped without batteries. If you select a Battery option, we will install a set of 4 - AA Energizer Max Alkaline or Energizer e² Lithium batteries in your timer and test it. Depending on use, the Alkaline batteries will last about 6 months to 1 year and the Lithium batteries will likely last 1 to 2 years before needing replacement. Part of the battery cost goes to defray the additional shipping cost needed for the extra weight of the batteries.
